(VOVworld) – The UK will be subject to the European Court of Justice for years after leaving the bloc if transitional deals are put in place, European Parliament’s Brexit negotiator Guy Verhofstadt said in an interview published Saturday.

He said he expected a transition deal to be adopted after the UK settles its debts to the EU before leaving, adding that the free trade agreement between UK and the EU only takes place in the transitional period of Brexit.
