On Wednesday, the House of Lords voted to guarantee the right of EU nationals to stay in the UK after Brexit. The vote was the first Parliamentary defeat for the government's Brexit bill. The upper house’s changes are almost certain to be rejected by the House of Commons. The bill gives PM May the authority to trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty and begin official negotiations for Brexit.
