British govt says former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher to receive ceremonial funeral

The British government has announced that Former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher will receive a ceremonial funeral with military honors which will be held at St. Paul's Cathedral next week. The funeral will be followed by a private cremation and the UK will not hold a day of national mourning for Thatcher. World leaders have sent condolences to the former PM’s family and to all UK citizens. Former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher died on Monday at the age of 87 after following a stroke. Thatcher was born on October 13, 1925, to a small business family in the Central UK. She studied in the Department of Chemistry, Oxford University, when she was 18 and worked at a food company. Thatcher got married to Denis Thatcher, prominent business man at that time. After giving birth to twins in 1953, she began a long political career.
