(VOVworld) - British Prime Minister Theresa May on Tuesday delivered a keynote speech outlining her 12-point plan for the UK’s leaving the European Union. As part of the plan, she hopes to reach a comprehensive trade agreement with the EU which will allow Britain to freely access EU markets and eliminate trade barriers as much as possible.

As planned, by the end of March, Parliament will trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, the process that formally opens negotiations on the terms of Britain's departure from the EU.  The negotiations are expected to take 2 years.
