Building a politically strong army, loyal to the fatherland
(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang attended a ceremony in Hanoi on Saturday to mark the 70th anniversary of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army. He said that in the context of complicated situations in the region and the world, particularly in Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia, as well as schemes to eliminate the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese army should be politically strong in order to defend the country: “We should build an elite, revolutionary, modern army with politics being the cornerstone. The General Department of Politics should focus on Party leadership to reinforce the army militarily and politically.”
The General Department of Politics received the Ho Chi Minh Order on this occasion.
