(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, incumbent and former senior leaders, relatives and people attended a burial service for former President Le Duc Anh in Ho Chi Minh City cemetery on Friday.

Attendees threw flowers onto Mr. Le Duc Anh’s casket in a grave, where he rests in peace.
Before arriving at the cemetery, the hearse passed through Military Region 7, of which Mr. Le Duc Anh was Chief of Staff and Commander, and through his residence at 240 Pasteur Street, Ho Chi Minh City.
General Le Duc Anh, who served as President of Vietnam from September 1992 to December 1997, passed away on April 22 in Hanoi at the age of 99.
Vietnam declared national mourning for the former President on Friday and Saturday.
