The news was released after the CNRP and the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) reached an agreement to end the year-long political deadlock at their talks on Tuesday. The two parties agreed to share power in the legislative body with the ruling CPP holding the positions of the President and the second Vice President while the CNRP taking up the position of the first Vice President. Each party will hold the chair of five committees in the National Assembly. According to CNRP spokesperson Yim Sovann, 55 members of the opposition party who succeeded in the general election last July, will take an oath at the Royal Palace in the presence of King Norodom Sihamoni on Thursday.
