The Phnom Penh Post quoted a statement by Cambodia’s government spokesman Phay Siphan as saying that the visit would be beneficial to Cambodia-Vietnam cooperation, especially in the maintenance of stability along the border shared by the two countries, with its full demarcation to be completed soon. He said this would be a significant achievement, adding that Cambodia has maintained cooperation with Vietnam and peace along the border.

The Khmer Times highlighted Mr. Trong’s visit to Cambodia in 2017 when he and Prime Minister Hun Sen witnessed the signing of five important documents designed to strengthen bilateral partnership in mitigating natural disasters, building power systems, and enhancing cooperation between the telecommunications ministries of the two countries.
