(VOVworld) -  At least 23 people were killed and more than 45 others wounded in a suicide car bomb on Monday in a mainly Shi'ite southwestern district of Baghdad.

The blast occurred on a busy commercial street in the Amil neighborhood, destroying several nearby stores and cars. The death toll may increase, according to local sources.

There has been no claim of responsibility but the Islamic State has carried out similar attacks in densely populated areas in Baghdad and other cities.
