(VOVworld) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic and Ukraine agreed on Sunday a ceasefire on the outskirts of Donetsk with the help of the joint Center for Control and Coordination.

But an hour after the ceasefire took effect, Eduard Basurin, Defense Ministry spokesman of Donetsk People’s Republic, accused Ukrainian troops of firing shells at the opposition.

Donetsk claimed that a day earlier mortars from Ukrainian tanks hit Peski and Spartak residential areas, the Donetsk airport, and north of Donetsk. There has not been any report on casualties. Local people said several shells struck a school building.
