This year’s event, featuring the theme “Central Highlands – Cultural Colors”, will introduce the cultural identities of the region through Gong performances, traditional costumes, and displays of traditional musical instruments, as well as ritual ceremonies, folk games, and an ethnic minority fashion show. It aims to promote the cultural values and preserve the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Central Highlands. Hoang Duc Hau, Head of the Ethnic Culture Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism highlighted some new developments at this year’s event: "The event will honor Central Highland artists and artisans. The program includes an exchange with war veterans who participated in the Central Highland offensive of March, 1975, which opened the final 1975 campaign for national liberation and unification. We will also have an exchange between local provinces of cultural values including gongs".
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is applying for UNESCO recognition of the Collection of Tay Nguyen epics as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.
