(VOVWORLD) -India's move to add more troops at its border with China is “not conducive to safeguarding peace and is not conducive to easing tensions,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning at a regular press conference on Friday in Beijing.
India previously deployed 10,000 soldiers to its disputed border with China, according to international and Indian media, which may complicate the two countries’ relationship.
The Chinese spokesperson added that India’s actions do not align with the two sides’ previous agreement to jointly reduce tensions at the border.
Last month, China and India agreed to maintain communication through relevant military and diplomatic mechanisms after the 21st Corps Commanders meeting between the two armies.
