China, Russia sign energy deals
(VOVworld) - China and Russia have signed several energy cooperation agreements.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping witnessed the signing including a memorandum of understanding on the China-Russia West Route natural gas pipeline and a framework agreement between China National Petroleum Corporation and Russia’s Gazprom.
Addressing a meeting ahead of the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, the two state leaders agreed that fostering energy cooperation is vital to assuring energy security for their countries. They agreed to push forward the construction of the east route gas pipeline and launch the west route at an early date. The two leaders also agreed to beef up cooperation in high-speed rail, high technology, aerospace, and finance sectors.
