An EC statement said that Russia would propose the time for the meeting. The two leaders also agreed to realise signed agreements at the September 12 talks relating to Association and Free Trade Agreements between the EU and Ukraine.
At the trilateral meeting in September, Russia, Ukraine, and the EU agreed to postpone the implementation of the Ukraine-EU Free Trade Agreement and continue the Free Trade status between Russia and Ukraine until the end of 2015. Putin and Barroso believed that these measures would serve for a peaceful political solution to the Ukrainian crisis on the basis of respecting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
