China says trade agreements must be mutually beneficial
(VOVWORLD) - Trade agreements between China and the US must be two-way, balanced, equal, and mutually beneficial, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Tuesday.

Lu Kang made the remarks in response to media reports that US President Donald Trump said no deal could be "50-50" between China and the US, but must be more in favor of the US because of past trade imbalances in favor of China.
Lu said mutually beneficial trade should mean overall reciprocity and balance of interests in opening markets, adding that it is unscientific and unprofessional to think the US has been "suffering losses" in its trade relations with China.
