Chinese scientists achieve breakthrough in coronavirus vaccine
(VOVWORLD) - The Zhejiang provincial Department of Science and Technology announced on Saturday progress in the fight against the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and a breakthrough in studying a related vaccine.
Viral antigens have been tested in the first batch of lab rats, which produced antibodies and showed good immunity, they said. The vaccine was recombined on hosts and is undergoing animal testing.
A vaccine contains a certain amount of antigens that stimulate antibodies to prepare the immune system to fight the disease.
