Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, deputy chief of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), made the statement at a reception in Hanoi on Monday for the visiting delegation of Chinese war veterans and relatives of fallen soldiers who assisted Vietnam during its resistance war against the US.

Van said that during its past struggle for national independence and liberation, Vietnam received wholehearted assistance from international friends, especially the spiritual and financial support of China and other socialist countries which contributed to Vietnam’s victory in its resistance war against the US.
