(VOVworld) -  Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue underlined the challenges posed by climate change to socio-economic development, the environment, and local livelihoods.

Addressing a conference in the Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau on Monday, Mr. Hue said localities and ministries should strive to find new models for climate change adaption.

He asked ministries, central agencies, and the People’s Committees of the Mekong Delta localities to continue to update climate change scenarios, devise effective climate change adaptation plans, and complete socio-economic development planning in line with agricultural restructuring.

Regional localities should outline corporate solutions for coping with climate change as well as local development programs, especially a Mekong Delta master-plan.
