(VOVworld) – Tens of thousands of visitors joined the Ba Be Lake Spring Festival yesterday in Bac Kan province.

Embracing the identities of local ethnic groups, this year’s festival featured new activities including a ritual called “Ha Dien” (plowing the field) to pray for good weather, good crops, and prosperity.  Local people offered the gods trays of local specialties such as chicken, 5-colored sticky rice, and corn wine. Visitors bought souvenirs and enjoyed folk games. The Ba Be Lake Spring Festival, held on January 10^th of the Lunar Calendar, is the biggest annual festival in Bac Kan province.
