(VOVworld)- The Northwestern Steering Committee organized a conference to promote tourism investment in the region on Monday.

In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Head of the Committee, stressed the need to tap local tourist potential. He asked provinces in the region to increase promotional activities and encourage travel companies to invest in the region. Phuc urged local authorities to invest more in upgrading local infrastructure. Delegates at the conference discussed strategies and priorities for tourist development. They introduced national tourist sites in the region and called for investment in local infrastructure and tourism development.
