Coronavirus under control in Vietnam, but high alert still in place
(VOVWORLD) - The novel coronavirus outbreak has been under control in Vietnam as the country has recorded no new cases since February 13, according to a meeting of the National Steering Committee on Covid-19 response in Hanoi on Monday.

The isolation of Son Loi commune in the northern province of Vinh Phuc, the epicenter of the epidemic in Vietnam, is expected to be lifted by midnight Monday.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam who chaired the meeting said Vietnam should continue to be on high alert and ready to respond to any outbreak. All confirmed or suspected cases must be isolated as soon as possible to prevent the deadly virus from spreading, he said. Mr. Dam added that Vietnam will suspend visa exemption for Italians from midnight Monday while Vietnamese returning from the Republic of Korea will be quarantined.
The same day, 30 Vietnamese citizens returning from China’s Wuhan were discharged from hospital after 21 days of quarantine.
