Nguyen Gia Liem, deputy head of Vietnam’s Center of Overseas Labour under the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, told VOV: “Many countries have shown interest in recruiting Vietnamese workers. Some Eastern European and Middle East countries like Kuwait have proposed to sign labor contracts with Vietnam, while the United Arab Emirates wants to resign a governmental cooperation agreement on protecting and receiving Vietnamese to work in the Middle East market.”

Last year Vietnam sent 140,000 workers overseas, 30% higher than the set target and an increase of 6% against the 2017 figure.
