COVID relapse suspect in Hanoi tests negative for coronavirus
(VOVWORLD) - Another PCR test by the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases on a suspected COVID-19 relapse in Hanoi turned out negative on Monday, according to the latest announcement from the Ministry of Health. The suspect had earlier tested positive by the National Hospital for Pediatrics in Hanoi after being given the clear two months ago.

The 21-year-old Vietnamese man from Cau Giay district in Hanoi returned from Russia in August and was quarantined upon arrival. He tested positive for COVID-19 on August 25 and was discharged in mid-September after treatment at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases. He also completed a 14-day home quarantine before resuming his studies at Hanoi University.
On November 7, he had a fever and went to the Hanoi Hospital of Transport for a check-up. He was diagnosed with a viral infection and returned home for self-treatment.
On November 11, he experienced a high fever and went to the hospital for a second check-up. The patient took the PCR test and the result came back positive four days later after the sample was transferred to the National Hospital for Pediatrics in Hanoi.
By Monday, Vietnam had gone 75 days without any COVID-19 infections in the community. The national infection count stands at 1,283, of which 1,124 patients have recovered and 35 have died.
