COVID-19: Vietnam reports 12 new imported cases
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam reported 12 additional imported cases of COVID-19 from 6pm Saturday to 6pm Sunday, according to the Ministry of Health. All of them have been quarantined shortly after their entry into Vietnam. 5 cases are being quarantined in Hanoi and the remaining 7 cases quarantined in Phu Yen province.

Vietnam has to date recorded 1,494 cases of COVID-19, of which 1,337 cases were cured. 35 patients died.
Patient 1435 infected with a new variant of SARS-CoV-2 virus, is being treated in Tra Vinh province. The patient's health is currently stable, no sore throat, no fever.
Patient 1435 returned to Vietnam from the UK on December 22, 2020 and was quarantined upon arrival. The patient is infected with the new variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which was recently recognized in the UK and contains the D614G mutation, which spread rapidly 4-5 months ago.
