(VOVWORLD) - Croatia aims to strengthen and diversify relations with Vietnam in key areas, focusing on economic cooperation, using Croatia's strategic position to promote trade and investment between the two countries, said a Croatian Government official.

In an interview with a Vietnam News Agency correspondent in southern Europe, Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman highlighted the significant progress in bilateral cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1994.
He emphasized increased high-level engagement and commitment in economic, cultural, and diplomatic affairs, adding that Croatia aims to expand exchanges in culture, science, and education to foster mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
Croatia hopes to strengthen coordination with Vietnam at the United Nations and collaborate globally wherever their interests align. Radman suggested prioritizing closer economic ties, trade cooperation, and more diplomatic dialogue and high-level visits between Vietnam and Croatia.
