(VOVworld) – Cuba announced Wednesday a detailed plan to combat the Ebola epidemic.

Addressing a meeting with health experts from 30 countries in Havana, Jose Angel Portal, Cuba’s First Deputy Health Minister, said Cuba’s plan to fight Ebola includes tightening inspections at border gates, especially of persons arriving from infected regions, and implementing preventative methods in workplaces and public spaces. Portal said Cuba has formed a work group in charge of following Ebola developments and urged closer co-operation between the Health Ministry, the National Civil Defense office, and other government authorities.
