(VOVworld) – The 7^th Congress of Cuba’s Communist Party closed on Tuesday after the election of a new Party Central Committee and Party leaders.

Raúl Castro and José Ramón Machado were re-elected as First and Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party. 17 other members of the Political Bureau and 142 members of the Central Committee were also announced.

The Congress approved five resolutions on a number of reports on Cuba’s socialist socio-economic model, development plans until 2030, vision, strategic pillars, the implementation of directions set by the 6th Congress, and the implementation of Party tasks set by the First National Conference in January 2012.
