(VOVWORLD) -The Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh on Wednesday opened the Culture and Tourism Week and the Southern Food Festival associated with Ok Om Bok festival 2022.

Visitors are introduced to spaces of folk cakes and regional cuisine, workshop on tourism link and new destinations, a fair of rural trade and industry, and another fair of OCOP (One Commune One Product) items and craft village products.
There are stalls displaying typical products of Khmer ethnic people of 9 districts, towns and cities in Tra Vinh. The 1st Khmer amateur dance festival will offer exciting performances and contest activities.

Duong Hoang Sum, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province, said: “This year, the festival is up-scaled with many more innovative activities than the previous year. Through the festival, our province wishes to stimulate economic development and promote tourism."
"We call on potential entrepreneurs to study and develop Tra Vinh tourism toward sustainability, especially marine economic tourism and local community eco-tourism,” he said.
The Tra Vinh Culture-Tourism Week and Southern Food Festival will run until next Tuesday.
