Da Nang hosts 33rd ASEAN Ports Association meeting
(VOVworld) - The 33rd meeting of the ASEAN Ports Association got underway on Friday morning in Da Nang to prepare for the Association’s agenda in the near future. Delegates’ discussions focused on developing policies on human resources and the security of ports in every member state. The meeting provides opportunity for the member states to coordinate their operations and learn about management system based on international standards. This will help them to improve and ensure the Association’s sustainable development. Ho Kim Lan, Secretary General of Vietnam’s Seaports Association, said: “Our discussions this year focused on the environment, especially the environment around harbors. Solutions to develop our ports in a sustainable way were also brought up. Being a member of Association for 18 years, Vietnam now plays an active role in promoting friendly and cooperative relations between all members”.
