(VOVworld) – Dak Nong provincial People’s Committee has unveiled a plan on the protecting and promoting the heritage of gongs for the next 5 years. The plan has a total cost of 16 billion VND (700,000 USD). The Committee will provide funds to purchase equipment and facilities for district art troupes, to build a database on gongs for education and advertisement, and to organize classes of gong performances among local ethnic groups.  The Central Highlands’ cultural space of gongs is recognized by UNESCO as masterpiece of oral and intangible heritage of humanity.
