(VOVworld) - The eighth Delhi Dialogue themed “ASEAN – India Relations: A New Paradigm” opened in New Delhi city, India, on Wednesday to discuss bilateral political-security, economic and socio-cultural engagement.

Representatives from the Vietnamese embassy in India, the Foreign Ministry and businesses attended the event that will run over three days.
Addressing the event, Indian Deputy Secretary of External Affairs Anil Wadhwa said the dialogue targets strengthening ties between India and ASEAN, especially since the ASEAN Economic Community was established on December 31, 2015 and will become the world’s fourth largest economy with a 662 million population that will open up new opportunities.
The business session on Wednesday focused on the manufacturing sector in India and the “Made in India” initiative, as well as supplementary fields and barriers to manufacturing ties.
