(VOVworld) – Some one thousand demonstrators marched in Bangkok Sunday to protest last week’s military coup, despite martial law forbidding demonstrations and political gatherings of more than 5 people. Clashes occurred between protesters and armed forces at a retail centre. In an announcement Sunday, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army Prayuth Chan-ocha called on the people not to join street demonstrations, adding that normal democratic principles are temporarily suspended in this situation.
