The planning is built on a human-centered perspective, supporting the implementation of the National Strategy on Green Growth for the 2021-2030 period. It targets to proactively prevent and control pollution and environmental degradation, restore and improve environmental quality, protect the integrity of natural ecosystems, establish protected areas and biodiversity; form concentrated waste treatment zones, build a network of environmental monitoring and warning nationwide.
Deputy Prime Minister Ha said the environment is one of the important pillars in national sustainable development. The master plan should be updated toward green economic growth and circular economy to ensure the harmony between economic growth, social security, and environmental protection.
“The planning should consent with the Resolution of the Party Central Committee on proactively responding to climate change and strengthening natural resource management and environmental protection, and the Law on Environmental Protection in 2020," said Deputy PM Ha.
He added that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment must ensure that the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 is enforced in the planning, which covers the implementation space, roadmap, and prioritized goals as well as policies and solutions for implementation.
