(VOVworld) – Vietnam will continue contributing to international security and socio-economic development, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh told diplomatic corps in Hanoi on the occasion of Lunar New Year (Tet).

He said besides ensuring macro-economic stability and social welfare, Vietnam has fostered friendship and co-operation ties with foreign countries:
“In 2014 Vietnam fostered relations with ASEAN countries, major countries, and traditional-friendship nations. Investment ties between Vietnam and international partners and co-operation ties in politics and defense were also enhanced. Vietnam’s further integration into the global economy will contribute to security and socio-economic development in the region and the world.”
Mr Minh said in 2015 Vietnam will do its best to enhance its foreign relations, promote deeper integration into the global economy, participate in an active and responsible manner in global security and development issues, and strengthen co-operation in climate change adaptation, water security, and energy security. He said all nations should have mutual respect, abide by international law, and show goodwill of co-operation to ensure peace and economic growth.
Head of diplomatic corps in Hanoi, Morocco Ambassador El Houcine Fardani, reiterated his will to contribute to fostering ties between Vietnam and countries and international organisations in the manner of peaceful co-operation and mutual benefit.
