(VOVworld) - A documentary film about the legendary General Vo Nguyen Giap titled “People’s General” is being made as a tribute to Vietnam’s talented general who fought for national independence. Emeritus Artist Nguyen Thi Viet Nga is the script writer and film director: "I had the honor to interview General Giap twice. When he passed away, Vietnamese people showed their profound regrets, which made me decide to make a film about him."

The film was partially made in Hanoi and Quang Binh province and more is expected to be filmed in Ho Chi Minh city, Thua-Thien Hue, the central highlands, and at a ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory. The documentary is planned to last 50 minutes and completed on the day marking one year after the General’s passing.
