(VOVworld) – The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on Wednesday launched 2 medium-range ballistic missiles towards the sea from the eastern coast of the Korean Peninsula.

The North has launched dozens of short-range rockets in recent weeks.

At an emergency meeting, a spokesperson from the Republic of Korean Defence Ministry, Kim Min-seok said that it was a provocative action violating UN Security Council resolutions. The DPRK has launched multiple short-range missiles in recent weeks, believed to be Pyongyang’s response to the on-going US-RoK joint military exercises. The DPRK said that these were normal manoeuvres by its army.
