The African Union will send Egypt a 50-60-member mission to monitor the parliamentary elections. The European Parliament said it would not send Egypt a full mission to monitor the parliamentary elections, saying Egypt’s Presidential elections last May did not meet international standards, hence, it is not appropriate to send a mission of monitors. The US Carter Center said it will not be involved in observing the upcoming elections in Egypt due to the divisive political atmosphere here.
