Azzam Al-Ahmed, an official of Fatah Party Central Committee, says a meeting with Hamas will be held in Cairo on Wednesday. Al-Ahmed said the meeting will focus on mediation efforts which have been at a standstill since last July. Al-Ahmed said both sides are interested in establishing a coalition government under President Mahmoud Abbas. Resumption of negotiations between Hamas and Fatah is part of a solidarity agreement brokered by Egypt-last April. Some articles of this agreement have not yet been implemented due to disagreements over who will lead the coalition government.
