(VOVWORLD) -EU countries agreed to add 10 new individuals and entities to the Iran sanctions list as they met in Brussels on Wednesday, the first meeting between EU leaders since Iran’s counter-attack against Israel last month.
EU foreign ministers agreed in principle on April 22 to step up sanctions against Iran, aiming to curtail exports of EU-made components used in the production of UAVs, drones, and ballistic missiles employed by Tehran.
The agreement was reached following missile and drone attacks by Iran against Israel on April 13, in retaliation for April 1 strike on Iran’s consular building in Damascus that Tehran said was Israeli strike.
Iran has called the EU’s decisions “regrettable”.
