(VOVworld) - The heads of 27 EU countries on Saturday agreed on tough guidelines for Brexit talks with the UK at Brussels Summit.

They said when the formal negotiations between the EU and the UK begin in June, the British government will be told it needs to resolve the key divorce issues of citizens’ rights, the estimated 50 – 60 billion Euros divorce bill and the Irish border before any talks on a future trade deal can begin. EU leaders stressed priorities to avoid establishing a "hard" border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. 

 The detailed negotiating guidelines will be published next week and ratified by EU Parliament on May, 22nd.
