(VOVworld) – The EU announced on Monday that it is ready to halt its sanctions against Iran. EU Foreign Ministers said that the joint action plan reached between Iran and the P5+1 on the nuclear issue is a long awaited signal.

The plan demonstrates the commitment of concerned parties to building trust and reducing tensions resulting from Iran’s nuclear issue. The minister said Iran must implement its commitments. In return the EU will halt a number of its sanctions against the country after IAEA inspectors clarify Iran’s nuclear activities in the next 6 months. Iran last week withdrew from nuclear negotiations after the US imposed sanctions on 19 companies and individuals that have been doing business with Iran despite US sanctions.
