(VOVworld) – Croatia closed 7 of its 8 border gates with Serbia to impede the influx of immigrants, after some 11,000 immigrants entered Croatia from Serbia on Wednesday. The only open border gate now is on the Belgrade-Zagreb route.

European Council President Donald Tusk said Thursday that he will convene a second EU Summit on the immigrant crisis next Wednesday. The summit will focus on how to relocate the 120,000 immigrants, who are now sheltering in Greece, Hungary, and Italy.
Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann called for a EU Summit, after the EU Interior Ministers couldn’t agree on an EC plan of relocating the immigrants based on a quote scheme.
The Danish government said Thursday it will receive 1,000 of the 120,000 immigrants.
