10,000 Russian police will provide security at Christmas markets, shops, and other public venues in Moscow. In Germany, Cologne’s authorities beefed up security following last week’s attack in Berlin. They have deployed 10 truck-mounted water cannons, erected concrete barriers to protect high-risk areas, and installed surveillance cameras for the first time.
