(VOVWORLD) - An extraordinary summit of the EU leaders took place in Brussels on Wednesday and Thursday to reach consensus in dealing with ongoing challenges.
The leaders of 27 EU countries agreed to strengthen sanctions against Iran and called for restrain to prevent any violent action that might lead to serious consequences.
Regarding solutions to boost the EU’s economy, they proposed economic stimulus measures to regenerate regional economic strength, which include increasing investment in advanced industries, research and development, and enhancing international trade cooperation.
The summit also reviewed current economic policies and sought new cooperation opportunities to enhance Europe's competitiveness in the global market.
