February CPI likely to increase a maximum of 1.4%

(VOVworld) - Vietnam’s consumer price index (CPI) this month is likely to increase by up to 1.4%, lower than the previous forecast. Tran Thi Hang, Deputy General Director of the General Statistics Office, said that this is low compared to the average rise of 2% in February. Hang noted that the CPI often goes up during the first Lunar month due to increased consumer demand for festivity commodities and services. But this year, sufficient supply preparations and an enhanced price stabilization program controlled prices better.
