National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan

Speaking at a meeting with female ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations on Saturday, Ms Ngan said Vietnam’s hosting of the recent meetings of the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly (APF)’s Women’s Parliamentary Network and the APF Education, Communication and Cultural Affairs Committee shows that Vietnam is a responsible of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, and the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF). Ms Ngan said: “Vietnam is happy to receive support from the international community, particularly female ambassadors and representatives of international organizations in Vietnam. With your support, Vietnam has learned lessons from other countries and received technical and human resource assistance to promote its international integration and realize targets of the Agenda 2030 on Sustainable Development to achieve inclusive growth. You have helped Vietnam to achieve gender equality for the sake of a dynamic, inclusive and prosperous future.”

Earlier the same day, Ms Ngan visited the Hai Ba Trung Temple in Me Linh district on the outskirts of Hanoi.
