First cancer hospital in central Vietnam opens in Da Nang
(VOVworld)-Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien has hailed the opening of the Da Nang Cancer Hospital as offering thousands of poor cancer patients the opportunity for monitoring and treatment. Speaking at the hospital’s inauguration in Danang city’s Lien Chieu district, on Saturday, Minister Tien explained it will also help alleviate patient overload:“The launching of this hospital is a source of joy for local people and health workers. It will ease the overworking load in central hospital and improve quality of care for patients.”

Covering 15ha and encompassing 500 beds and 27 faculties and departments, the hospital is equipped with advanced medical technology. It houses a building with 150 rooms and 200 apartments reserved for staff, doctors, and experts. It also includes a kitchen capable of providing poor patients free of charge with complimentary soup. The funding for the hospital’s VND1.3 trillion construction bill was sourced from the government, international and domestic organisations.
