The government leader made the statement at a meeting with the Long Thanh International Airport Project Management Board after Sunday morning’s on-site inspection tour.
Approved in June 2015, the 16-billion-USD Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai province will have a capacity of 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo per year. Its construction will be divided into three phases.
Prime Minister Chinh asked sectors and units involved to ensure adequate supply of electricity, water, telecommunications, and other infrastructure for the project.
He also urged capital allocation, diversified ways to mobilize capital sources, specific and feasible plans, and preparation of enough materials for the project so that the first phase of Long Thanh International Airport can be inaugurated by 2025.
