FIRST projects on innovation reviewed
(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Science and Technology and the World Bank on Tuesday co-hosted a conference reviewing the outcomes of the Project “Fostering innovation through research, science and technology - FIRST”, which was launched in 2014.

The objective of the project is to support science, technology and innovation in Vietnam through piloting new policies. Chief supervisor of the FIRST projects, Associate Professor Tran Quoc Thang said: “The projects sponsored by FIRST linked enterprises and institutes through piloting the implementation of policies of FIRST and the Ministry of Science and Technology to create high-quality products. Institutes or schools can invite foreign experts, especially Overseas Vietnamese experts to help apply new technologies to manufacturing.”
Addressing the conference, World Bank Country Director for Vietnam Ousmane Dione ranked FIRST at the “Satisfy” level, adding that FIRST contributes to developing science, technology, and innovation in Vietnam. The World Bank pledged to support innovation in Vietnam following the FIRST projects, he said.
