(VOVworld) – Flooding has claimed 18 lives in central provinces. Quang Binh suffered the worst with 7 deaths followed by Quang Nam with 6 deaths.

According to the National Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control 3 people from Ha Tinh, Thua Thien Hue and Binh Dinh remain missing. Torrential rains and flooding have destroyed and washed away 560 houses and thousands of hectares of rice and subsidiary crops. The Vietnam Fatherland Front has called on organizations and individuals at home and abroad to support people in the central region to overcome the aftermath of the disaster.
